I have! I have a new T/C inline that I have been shooting about once a week or so. I start every shooting session by loading my hunting load and shooting the first shot at a 14" target with an 8" bull, and if it hits the black, I call it a dead elk. Then I shoot another 20 or so patched round balls for practice. I do all my shooting off hand so I know for certain I will be able to make the shot when it counts. So right now I can take any game out to 75 yards shooting offhand. I know alot of people will shoot at a deer or elk from 200 yards out with a muzzleloader nowadays, but that is just too risky for me. My hunting load is 120 grains of 777 with a 348 grain powerbelt. Out here in Washington we must have a percussion cap with no device to shield it from the rain, no telescopic sights, no jacketed bullets, and minimum 50 caliber. What are you shooting? Whats your load?

Glad to hear you're getting some shooting in. You'll sure be ready come hunting season it sounds like. This new rifle is the Pedersoli Rocky Mountain Hawken. It's a .54 caliber. Only pic I have is the brochure pic that came in the box. She was a shooter right out of the box. This target was the first 5 shots through her. Was using 90grs. of 2f Goex and a .530 patched ball. I do my load developing off my portable bench. Forgot it that day and shot off a picnic table. She is deer ready. Over the last weekend I decided to see what she'd do with my old rabbit load at 20yds. off my bench. Here's a couple targets. One was 30grs. of Goex and the other was 30grs. of Swiss. Both were 5 shots in a ragged hole. Since these targets I've taken her out and shot a few rabbit and squirrels. Tuesday I shot 3 rabbits and 3 squirrels. Today I shot 3 rabbits and 1 squirrel. All head shots. I'm real pleased with her.

Thats cool. Was that thing sighted in like that right outta the box? I haven't bought a rifle with non-adjustable sights for ages, they never, ever seem to work out for me. That thing is right on though.

Haven't messed with the sights...took it out of the box...cleaned her and off I went. Decided to start at 90grs. for the first 5 shots and see what she'd do...you see the results. I'm happy.
