How many of you guys (and gals) had to take a Hunters Safety course a s a requirement to obtain a license? What state are you from? Did you have to take a Bow Safety class as well?
Here in Michigan it is required of all young hunters. I personally never needed to take the class as a requirement, but took it anyway with my oldest son. I'll be taking it again with Michijunior sometime this summer. What a great way to get an education. The class we took was not only very informative, but a lot of fun as well. I would recommend it to everyone whether it's required or not!!

I took my oldest stepson to get it, I went ahead and took it with him. I figured that way he wouldn`t feel alone and may help him be a little more confident and figured it couldn`t hurt for me to take it. It was a great time the instructors were very thorough and made it easy for the kids to understand. I scored high enough to qualify as a instructor for the state of Indiana and had them send me an application. Once I get things rolling with my organization we will start giving HEC`s for our county and try to help the kids and adults.

That's awsome, especially doing it with the kids in mind.

I have never been required to take it... but took it twice..once with my Son and once with my Stepson. I think anyone with a youngster who has to take it, they should take it with the youngster. It seems like it makes them more interested in it and besides, it's kinda fun and there's no such things as "learning too much".

I agree lock, never too old to learn. I've been thinking seriously about going and taking it myself.
