What is your preference on tree stands? My vote is for a climber as I can get a little higher above the line of sight and smell of the deer. But I wouldn`t turn down a ladder stand if there were alot of small unclimable trees.

I love my Summit Viper but I don't get to use it very often. Not many trees for it where I hunt.
Top choice for me though are my two man ladder stands. Big and roomy for plenty of comfort.

I like it all. Climbers, ladder stands, pop-up blinds, natural blinds, etc.. My favorite to use would be a climber as I can set up a stand anywhere there is a straight tree of the proper diameter. I can usually find one no matter where I am hunting at.

Hunting our own property I vote for ladder stands.

Hang ons for me. Tough to find a tree in some of the areas I hunt that would allow for a climber.

I use a Summit Goliath climber. I have pretty much sworn off ladder stands. Because 2 years ago while taking one down, it rolled off the tree with me on it and busted me up pretty good. I messed up both shoulders and a knee, but 2 surgeries later I almost back to normal.

I always attach two additional ratchet straps to it. One where the teeth meet the tree and another in the stabilizer area. I've always been able to make them very stable that way. Being a big fella, I want them as stable as possible.
