Figured since I opened my big mouth about a camping forum, I'd start posting....LOL....
How do you all do it when you decide to camp out in the great outdoors?
I have a 3-room Coleman tent that'll sleep 6. 3 air matresses(a queen sized one for the missus and I when the kids aren't trying to push me off the side), sleeping bags, lanterns, the standard amount of gear. Usually have at least 2 large coolers for drinks and perishable items, first aid kit, plenty of OFF! for the kids.
Will eventually get a pop-up camper or a small RV to make things easier, but it seems to take away from the experience somewhat.
OK LODGERS, YOUR TURN!
......'slap....

Well if I am by myself? I usually find a nice pine thicket and get all the branches I can to make a bed out of the pine,,which does make a comfy bed Then build a fire and VIOLA I`m roughing it. Now if I go with the family it usually involves a tent, air mattress, sleeping bags, and in a park with a shower house and restroom,,lol

Motel 6!! ;D Just kidding fellas. I haven't been camping in a few years but we're thinking of going this year. When I used to go we'd just have a tent and sleeping bags. No electronics. Coleman stove and lanterns. Transistor radio for some music and weather forecasts. Great fun and I think I'm overdue to get out some more!!

Haven't camped in the winter since the Army, if you want to call that camping. ;D
We have a couple of tents. Use air mattresses, usually just use blankets. Have a colman battery operated lantern. Cooler and a few other utensils.
But same as michi, we haven't been in a few years. But love it.

I used to go to a park near my old hunting ground and would camp there during the winter in deer season. Had a electric heater and cots and sleeping bags for me and my buddy. Was a great time,,miss those days.

I camp in the winter about once a year. Have a great little setup. Pull everything out of the back of my rig (suv) and spread out a few blankets for padding. Inside the rig that is. Then unroll the bags and everything I'm not using goes under the truck. Sit around the campfire and drink beer till I'm about to pass out or run out of wood, if possible time it so they both run out at the same time, then hit the sack. Always dry and always warm.
The rest of the year I use my tent if I'm staying more than 1 night. My wife bought this AWFUL gigantic thing that sleeps like 10 people which means it was labled to sleep 20, has three rooms! Can you believe that!? A 3 room tent!? You have to find 1/4 acre of flat ground to pitch the crazy thing! Plus when you fold it up to put it away, it never fits in the bag. We have used it two times and I wont use it again. I want to get a new one this year but I dont know if I can afford it. I'm looking at one in Cabelas, a 4 season, 4 pole dome.
Anyhow, I love to camp. When I was a kid we camped for three months during the summer of '77. Started in colorado and hit cali, N.M., Utah, Wy, Mt, maybe some others, I'm not sure, but what a great experience. We used to get up and pick huckleberries and have huckleberry pancakes cooked over a campfire for breakfast, man I could reminice for hours.
I didn't hijack this thread did I?
