I will be part of a controlled hunt, and its looking real good that I may bag me a big boy here. Did some scouting yesterday, and found deer trails that you think were made by cattle, and in a area of about 2 acres I found around 50 rubs and 6 scrapes. Sorry Pop, you can't hunt here, you have to put in for a drawing. But I'll try to get you in a good spot elsewhere.

Not much to report on this hunt except, it was bad, real bad. I saw 1 deer, 3 turkeys and a yote. Oh, and what seemed every hunter in Michigan. I was the first one in my area around 5:45 am, and by the time the sun came up I had two guys sitting to the left and right of me about 50 yards away. I said something to them and they ignored me. So I left to find another spot and everywhere I went, people, people all over the place. I finely find a spot and low and behold someone comes walking in and sits down 75 yards in front of me, ugh. Then all of the sudden about 4 guys start wailing away with their shotguns near by and I could see them too,and they were just randomly shooting, no deer to be seen. Needless to say I won't be back to hunt, so the Fort Custer log book is done, and good riddance too.

Glad you were the guinea pig on this one Rut. Even though I've grown accustomed to close gunfire living in the Motor City, it's just not the same out in the woods. Glad you came back with no new piercings!!
