Yep!! That's how I feel. After having such rotten seasons the last two years, I'm out for revenge. I started today bu scouting out some newly found stateland about 20 miles from my doorstep. Took Jr. and we saw a bunch of tracks and sign. On our way home, I happened to glance to the side of the road where I saw a pick up truck parked and lo and behold, there were about 8 deer prancing around 150 yds into a big ol field. Two were very special as they were sporting some VERY nice headgear. :oAnd they put on a show for us! They were sparring way for the entire time we sat and watched. First time Jr. ever witnessed it so I was especially glad. I took out a pen and paper and left a note on the pickup trucks windshield asking him to contact me in regards to allowing my sons and I access to the property. Knew he was a hunter as soon as I walked up to the truck and saw the bow case sitting on the front seat!! Wish us luck that whoever it is will be gracious enough to say Yes!!

The hunhter called me back and said he only had a very small portion of the land Ii saw and that he was sorry but could not allow me to hunt it. Suggested I attmpt to find out who owns the property next to him which is quite large. Said he's onl;y seen one person EVER out there and he didn't believe the person was a huinter. Time to hit the county seat to check on land records!!

Well fella's (and ladies too ) Looks like my luck is certainly changing for the better. Met a new member on BT's site that I talked to on the phone a minute ago. Anyway, he recently posted his success story and come to find out, he's a fellow Michigander that lives a 1/2 hour away. We talked for awhile and then I popped the question, "Can you turn me onto the area your hunting?" He says, "Sure"!! So he's gonna call me in a few days to let me know his plans for the weekend and it looks like I'll be out this weekend trying to get these arrows wet with something other than rain!! It's stateland that he says has a great buck to doe ratio and he's already taken a doe and a 7pt. Amazing story ( btreviews.proboards57.com/index.cgi?board=venison&action=display&thread=1160416567 ). So wish me luck fellas. Can't beat meeting new friends that enjoy the same things you do!! Thanks Jerry aka Bucknuts!!

Well it's confirmed!! I'll be getting out this weekend both Saturday and Sunday. Wife even smiled and said good luck!! Think she may be getting tired of seeing me? Anyw3ay, the area we have penciled in is known as the Buck County of Michigan. More Booners come out of here every year than anywhere else. The gentleman I'm going with says he's seen quite a few dandies and basically almost guaranteed success on something. Hope it's true. Got the clothes washed, the pack filled and I'm ready to go. I'll be making thios trip without my sons this time and I'm feeling bittersweet about that. Love having them with me, but when they are it's hard to concentrate on my own hunting. Jeffrey has Homecoming this weekend and David has prior plans to do something with his Uncle. Hopefully I'll be bringing home something for them to get jealous over!! ;D ;D

Well here's the long awaited update to my log. And believe me, if there are any movie producers in the audience, give me a call for the details behind this "unbelievable" storyline. I was running a bit late last Saturday for my hunt with the gentleman that invited me to his area. So I called and let him know I'd be there ASAP. Decided to push the speed limit a bit to make up time.Anyway, along the way I get pulled over for going 10 over the speed limit. While doing a check on me a warrant for my arrest pops up. I've been accused of being in a conspiracy to steal a car. My friend bought a car from someone and we found out the hard way it was stolen. I had to put up $500 cash to bond out of jail, hire an attorney, lose days of work and endure the embarrasment of such dealings. To add insult to injury, a warrant was unknowingly issued for my arrest and I was picked up for being an accomplice to the crime on my way to hunt (of course if I wouldn't have been doing 65 in a 55 I would have never been stopped ) I had to stay in jail for almost a week because of a typo of my last name and the fact that due to overcrowding, prisoners are being held in a gym where there are no phones available. All this for being a passenger in a car that was unknowingly stolen. So the Shleprock Syndrome endures. I swear that the Gods have it in for me. I think I'm going to have to make a sacrificial offering of something in order to appease them. This is just getting way out of hand. Anyone know a priest thaqt does exorcism's?

I'll find out Dec 11th but I'm not counting on anything good coming out of this. Seems they want a conviction at whatever cost. I can't afford Johnny Cochrane so I'm hoping that someone realizes the actuality of this case and rules accortdingly.
