Don't get to see this much in the north praries.... My buddy Dean,raise's them just west of town,same guy that raises buffalo......(different pasture though).....

Took a trip too OK. too see my sister,, They have them all over the place down there,, Now when they say LONG HORN ,,THEY MEAN LONG HORN.. Thanks fer sharin ;D ;D

I love looking at Longhorn-but hear you can't eat them,kind of stringy and tough....Anyone try any...........??

I love looking at Longhorn-but hear you can't eat them,kind of stringy and tough....Anyone try any...........?? Yes, I have.......good for hamburger...cool to look at, but not much for eatin'.... Longhorns won't "bulk up" the way other breeds will..an aquaintance of mine had a few head of longhorns, he poured the grain to them, wouldn't bulk up for squat!..one of the reasons an Angus is so popular....they'll bulk up, and not a lot of fat compared to others....

Ya see a few out here.Alot of ranches use them for first calf hiefers because they throw small calves.
