Foss~ We need to talk ! I hate to part with them, but I use em for my art work . Sometimes it really HURTS to cut em up for stuff. I personally think the bleached ones look nice when they are properly stained and buffed out, but its a lot of work.

(ha ha) thats about half of them....Just me and my two boys at home-so we have a house full of horns too, seem's like every room as a few,or more.... I never part with mine either..(Might horse trade),but usually keep them now... Started my collecting on the mussellshell river in the 80's,Have had the bug ever since.... I have some old Elk buttons, that I might let go,about three inches across or so...just been saving them(for who know's what) ;D I have a mule deer rack from 1942,from a rancher in the Snowy's,I sanded it down, refinished it and stained it-looks great now...Its a high 4x4... Crap I could go on and on with horn's.....I'll try and find you a pic I have of a guy in Montana(livingston,I think)his polebarn is full to the roof from the floor with piles and piles of horn's...He figures over a million or so,its just totally awesome to just see....

Foss~ Theres a guy living in Three Forks that had his pic in the local papers about a year ago that had that many horns. Also a guy in Ennis has two or three warehouses full of horn. Stacked from the floor to ceiling ... any kind and any size. I've got at least 10 or 12 coffee cans and butter tubs full of elk, moose , wt and mulie rosettes. Just bought some nice small Alaskan moose burrs....my not use them for years, but better to have on hand then look forem later when you need them and not find any. I like working with fossilized Alaskan walrus tusk too... Neat old ivory !

Ivory-(ha ha) stinky story about some "Sealion" tusk's......My ex-brother-in-law and I were walking on the beach in Lincoln City,Oregon..(spring time).. All the sudden a smell rang out that would put a man down! I looked for what the smell was(typical man)Ha ha....I found it,a dead Sealion with the most beautiful tusk's I have ever seen... Well of cource no tool's,but with my engineering skill's from finding fossil's and dino bones kicked in.....ROCK'S,we need some sharp rock's...... Found some and started to extract the tusk's from this dead animal, everyone walking by,just shaking their head's in disgust(ha ha).. Well about 10 minutes they were mine!!!! Took two year's to get the smell out of them.....PUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU....... Didn't know if it was against the law or not,but I have them.....
