Well I ain't Mike but I can tell you that these DVD's have some great info and tests to back up their assertions. The chapter on Shot Placement from Above is worth the price of admission. The Chapter regarding the Stick Bow is well done as is the String Jump segment. I think you would be pleased with the set.

Keith , If you watch the DVD's and need any additional pointers or have any questions you can always reach me. Here is a young man that I instructed for an hour perhaps. After a few months of summer shooting he took his first traditional deer last month To say that he was thrilled was an understatement! ;D

Although The DVD will give you alot of good info. it does not cover the Longbow.
Judgment Call 2 will cover the Longbow and should be out during the spring/summer of '07
I would suggest Byron Ferguson's become the arrow as well for your longbow instruction.

No problem Lets just try to walk through this here and you can let me know what works and what does not. We can go from there ___________________________________________________________________ To begin with....the anchor point is the most important thing to this and that is what you must do perfectly each and every time. I suggest that you use a high anchor and three fingers under. A high anchor would have the side of your index finger resting dead center of the eye socket and on top of the cheek bone. This would have the middle finger tip at the corner of your mouth. Now that you are at full draw you are nearly looking down the shaft. shoot the arrow at what you believe to be on line with the bulls eye. (you may want a large target for this) You most likely will not hit the bulls eye and that is fine because we really don't care if we do or not. What we are looking for here is to find our reference point , the point of where we actually see as opposed to what actually happens at the target. Now , aim for the difference in the gap and you will be right on. This is to say that if your arrow hits 4" low and 6" left you must see your arrow in the opposite position. This is the common practice and after awhile you will be shooting perfectly without even thinking of the location of the aiming point. That common point is where you want to aim while keeping your eye on the target. The offset becomes a reference in the peripheral vision.

Your tip help me a little. My groups was better at first. Shooting high left... Than started to put them all over the place. My anchor point is wrong is what I'm thinking. It different than my compound bow..Did you said a recurve are easier to shoot? The long bow I have is home made. That mite not be good to start with.. What bow would you tell some one wanting to start shooting to get? Thank you Bowtech for the info Keith

Your tip help me a little. My groups was better at first. Shooting high left... Than started to put them all over the place. I believe you were just over doing it and/or over thinking it once you got it. That's my guess anyway.....keep at it and to start with....less is more Anchor with three fingers under the arrow and keep the index finger 3rd. knuckle tight against the side of the eye socket so that the actual arrows nock is under the eye. Use the outcropping of the skull to set the knuckle into/against. Yes!....much more so. you may be right since there are many things that can cause a bow to misbehave like tiller and limb twist. Martin Recurve at a minimum length of 60" The longer overall length the better Go to Ebay for your best deals and make sure you ask if there are twists in the limbs or cracks. Many of the bows there are sold as wall hangers Expect to pay $200. - $400. for a good bow Post ones that you are considering if you want/need a second opinion. Look for one that is 45# Maximum.........TRUST ME ON THIS
