Hello fellow Lodgers!
This month's bowslap review is on the Tru-Glo Tru-Lite universal sight light.
As some of you may know, I have a Tru-Glo Extreme 3-pin sight, and had seen the availability of the light. Hadn't purchased it until a week ago. Here goes......
The Tru-Glo Tru-Lite universal sight light is intended primarily for use with Tru-Glo sight systems, but the kit comes with adapters for use with Trophy Ridge, Copper John, Archer's Choice, Extreme Archery, and PSE Archery brand sights. It is an all-metal unit, and all adapters are as such.
The Sight Light has a wide-beam violet LED that reduces glare, and really lights up the fiber optics and glow-in-the-dark sight ring. I was really surprised by how effective this light was! For installation on the Tru-Glo sights, it's as simple as opening the package, removing the light, and screwing it into the pre-threaded hole. Thye light is turned on/off by simply turning the upper part of the housing clockwise/counterclockwise. It has just enough resistance to avoid being turned on by light contact. The light housing is small enough to be non-intrusive, and doesn't throw off the balance of the bow. The kit also comes with 3 additional LR4-1.5V batteries, so if/when the installed batteries go out, you already have an additional set ready to go-definitely handy when you're out in the field! I can say this is one purchase that was well worth the money spent($14 bucks at the Gander myself), will definitely aid in low-light conditions!
