You guys make for some very interesting reading. Personally, I believe it is within the bow itself. When we look at all the different types of bows...we can not assume that each one does not have something different about it. Therefore....how the arrow may come off the bow would be different. All bows today...can be paper tuned to produce good arrow flight using the correct arrow. Some...come off the bow differently than others...this is a result of the actual design of each bow independently. I am not an expert in bow design or in how KE works....therefore, I look at what could be the differences that may cause one to impact harder than the other. I can't shoot 60-70 #'s so I have to look at lower poundage and the arrow flight and impact at lower poundage and draw lengths. This can really open your eyes as to what takes place when the arrow is released.

Thanks for the reply Londa The more I think about it the only real answer I can come up with is actually the most obvious. The weakest link on a bow,,the string. His had to be oscillating more than mine, while the forward momentum from the draw was there, the string had to be oscillating possibly due from it settling in and getting loose? Michi was right in it had to be a down wind change rather than a bow change,,I just couldn`t put my finger on it until I thought about the string. The forward momentum was there but the oscillation of the string robbed the energy of the arrow and it lost momentum after shot,, thats what I love about debating with Michi,,neither one of us will give up till we find the true answer,,besides it makes interesting reading for everyone to see us banter back and forth and bruise our fingers and destroy our keyboards,,lol. Ya gotta luv the bullheaded little wolverine,,LOL

OHHHHHHHHHH? ?? So you ARE competing and not just debating for higher informational purposes? ? I see how ya R Who me? ;D ;D Just kidding with ya bud!! Seems I'm always in the midst of a debate. Ask BT!! ;D We've had some long winded ones in the past. But much to my pleasure, they have been in the same mature fashion as this latest one with you. It's a rare and wonderful thing when two people can discuss and debate without things escalating to a personal attack fest. You are to be commended!! Even if you're a Hoosier!! ;D ;D

Well the final results are in on the Custom F-18.... After alot of inspection and tinkering I have found the sweet spot for this bow and am happy with her. The P38X cam is sweet little cam, you can say it is actually idiot proof, after trying to roll the cam back a touch to get to that sweet spot where fire and wind meet, I kept getting a thump and hand shock and couldn`t figure out why?? So I started with the basics and found my way to the cam and AHA ! ! The return string groove is placed over the top of the cable and it runs between the groove and its mounting point on the cam. If you roll it back too much it rests against the mount causing a thump and hand shock. So it took some twisting of the cable and the string in unison to find the beloved sweet spot and VIOLA ! ! I found her Now at 68 lbs. draw with a 364 grn arrow she is rock steady at 305 fps. She is actually 305.8 but I round down for reality sake. While I could crank the bow up to 73 lbs. to make an even 5 GPP,, and get an actual IBO score I am happy where she is at. I figure if I did crank it up that extra 5 lbs it would most likely fall in the 308-310 fps range. Not bad for a medium cam, specially 1 where your fine tuning is limited. Don`t think this is a detriment because it isn`t,, they live up to their motto of building bows for hunters ! ! These are very well crafted and well tuned and completely simple in operation, just set it and forget it. No need to go the extra miles I did, very little worry about it going out of tune before a big hunt. There may be faster bows out there but in my humble opinion very very few that are better.

Sure s nice when you find that "spot" that all bows possess. Sounds like that bow has it's part down pat. Now the shooter may be a whole other story!! ;D ;D
