While a friend and myself were at the Deer and Turkey Expo in Indianapolis,IN . We happened upon a archery shop that had a booth set up with several bows of various manufacturers. 1 such bow was a Strom Elite series, it is a 34 inch axle to axle with a 7 1/2 inch brace height and paralell limb design.
I had only recently even heard of Storm archery and was interested in investigating this machine a little closer. Well to my surprise it wasn`t a floor model bow but belonged to Edgell Terry the head of research and development. The gentleman working the floor quickly directed my friend and I to Mr. Terry and introduced us, one of the nicest and most personable people I have ever met. He had a smile on his face and gleem in his eyes at the mere mention of his product, his pride and dedication to the sport of archery shown through to me in that bow.
Upon visual inspection the bow looked like a normal everyday paralell limb bow, it had a good weight and a very good grip set up. The grip was 2 piece wood but was molded up to the sight window shelf offering a totally different feel the handle all together. The balance was unreal, Mr. Terry even took off the stabilizer and balanced the bow on 1 finger. I watched his hand and finger to make sure there would be no slight of hand to keep the balance and there wasn`t. He then put the stabilizer back on and balanced again in the same spot the same way and the balance remained perfect. He then handed me the bow and his release and said shoot it, so very eagerly I might add I wasted no time getting the release on and the arrow nocked. I drew the bow as slowly as I could which was very easy, it had the smoothest draw of any bow I have shot.Even though the draw length was about 2 inches shorter than I shoot it fit me, which was odd for me.It has a nice valley and a rock solid wall, the cam was their P38X speed cam. The balance of the bow at full draw was incredible, there was no tipping of any kind. Then the moment I had awaited the release, whisper quiet and quick as a lightning bolt the arrow found its mark. Zero hand shock, zero noise, minimal vibration gadgets on the bow or string and for 63 lbs. was very very quick.Mr. Terry then told me to draw the bow with an arrow and wait, I nocked the arrow and drew the bow and aimed and he said relax your bow hand and trust me?? I about soiled myself at what he did next. He grabbed my bow hand holding HIS PERSONAL bow and pulled my fingers open all the way and said shoot ! ! Well I figured it is his bow and he has my hand so here goes. I fired and the bow never moved, no jump,no fall,,no pitch just sat there.I was in complete disbelief, that in itself sold me on the Storm name. He then began to tell me how he and the 3 owners are all HANDS ON in the manufactureing process. Not one single bow leaves their factory without each one of them testing and firing it first.
To sum up a long winded review?,,lol
This is by far one of the finest bows I can imagine, the quality is second to none, the pride and dedication of the people behind them is second to none, and Storm will be my next bow. They have the Elite series, The E series which is a solocam but upside down. Then they have the F series which is a standard solocam. ALL of their bows are IBO rated at 300 + fps.
