NO Wires or cables,or any ropes IMO the best there has been for those reasons alone The trap door rest works on inertia. The rebound ( or kick) of the bow as the string is released trips the internal cam and the internal spring drives the launcher arm downward. I mean it drives it! .....the fastest on the market as far as getting out of the arrows way It is adjustable to react to the lightest rebound so I just set mine near minimum and that enough but a hunter might want it set stiffer The BK2 has alot of shock so a fairly stiff setting is fine. I use the thumb of my bow hand to re-cock the rest after each shot and it is not a problem after a little while of using it. The rest is adjustable just like a typical pronghorn rest in as much as the vertical and horizontal adjustments on the Pro Deluxe model which I recommend getting over the standard model.

BT, have they made improvement changes to the MBG trap door in the last couple of years? I bought one a few years ago returned it for a replacement and returned that one for a refund. The drop is very fast and the adjustment range is great but in both the ones I had, there was a lateral movement of the bar that comes out of the main body that the rest is attached to...up to 1/8" and no way to tighten it or stop the lateral drift. I felt very uncomfortable with that being that it had the same effect as a loose rest.

The first year there was an issue that was addressed the following year. Your problem was one I have never seen or heard of and therefore I have to believe , a defect. To bad you didnt know that so that you could have made an exchange.....you would have liked it

We'll I have to say that I am very impressed with my New MBG Mach 4 Trap Door Rest(Micro Adj) ;D . It was a pleasure to install. very quite and 100% easy too tune, ;)definitely a crowd pleaser . I had my pro shop guy thats works on my bow install it for free just because he wanted to see how it worked . He liked it so much he is gona carry some in his store now. Then while we were testing it out another archer came to the shop and was like that is so cool no cords , hmmmmmmmmmmm might have to get me one of those . So my arrows are flying tru again and I am looking forward to shooting some more again, but it is like 15 deg out and it was cold on the fingers. Gona be in the 40's bye Monday so watch out Yellow Jacket here i come . Thanks Bowtech for another Excellent recommendation on equipment ;D
