Yup! Thanks for the post replies....It's nice to have a grandson to help you pull your deer out of the woods or see him get his first buck with your .270. It's awesome! Since Stephen took the Hunter's Ed Course he has harvested his first doe and a 8 pt. buck and Carl got his first buck, a 5 pt. with my .270. I am proud of both of them. My step-grandson John, was with his Dad when he got his first buck, a 10 pt. You can read all about it on my website. ;D PS: I have a daughter, Kathy, who is 40 that hunts also...it's all in the family!!!! ;D

Even though I'm not required to have the Hunter Safety course, I would like to find the time to take it.

I hope you can Mike, I also hope you can qualify for being a trainer as well. We get the outdoorsman thing going and I want to start offering the HE classes.

I didn't require it either but I took it with my oldest and was surprised at what I thought I knew and really didn't. Great course and one thast I think should be required of all hunters young and old.

I took the course back in 1960 when I was eleven years old . That was before it was a requirement to hunt in Pa. Took it again with my son when he turned twelve and learned a lot. I agree with Michihunter, should be required for hunters of all ages.
