I had a dr.'s appt. last Friday and everything turned out good except for one thing... doc says I need to lose some weight. Duh, who doesn't!? Anyway, since I've quit my 2nd job I've been able to start back lifting weights and walking. I try to wak approx. 1 mile/day but today I felt good. My dog, Bailey, loves to go on these walks, chasing everything from small birds to rabbits. She's a large Fiest (about 15lbs) and the silliest thing to watch. Today while we were walking she's bouncing in the air like a pronghorn antelope. Every once in a while I'd see her spring up out of this broomstraw field. She looked like she was really enjoying herself. Anyway, we did good and walked a little over 3 miles. As long as I can hold out and Bailey doesn't get tired I'm going to try doing this every other day. Maybe by my next dr.'s visit I'll have a surprise for him.

I am in the same boat. Got fat and flabby in the last few years. Started doing the flex plan at Weight Watchers and in 8 weeks, I have lost 27 3/4 lbs. If you have a bike, ride it to get more exercise. I walk enough, but really started to see some weight loss when I hit the bike. Now I need to get in the aprtment complex's weight room.
Keep up the good work.

My doc. says to lose 5 - 10 lbs./month you need to cut your calorie intake by 1/3. For me that means about 1000 calories. Maybe the opposite is true - increase your calorie intake by 1/3.
