It has finally happened - my wife has graduated from college! She did extremely well graduating with a 3.06 GPA, not bad considering we have 3 kids under 10 and I was working 2 fulltime jobs. She still has to take her NC board exams but I'm sure she'll do just as well. I'm very proud of her and I think this was a great Mother's Day present for all of us! ;D

She is going to be a registered nurse. She has always had a very caring nature, almost to the point of denying her own needs for a friend/family member in trouble. It used to really bother me that she gives so much of herself for nothing in return. God has opened my eyes by the miracles He works through her. Don't worry, I'm not going to start preaching. I honestly feel that God put my wife in this profession because He feels this is where she'll do the most good. God, our church and our families have offered tremendous support and any help we ever needed. It has been a long, trying, life-altering event but all the hardships are about to pay off. In fact, they already have - I'm now able to quit my other full time job, 5 working days left! That's right - you heard it, May 24th is my last day then I'm down to one full time job working for the NC DOC. What am I going to do with all that extra time? ;D

That's great Ibohunt2! He don't always give us what we want but does give us everything we need and is constantly leading us in the right direction if we just listen! We all have a special purpose in life. We may realize it at any time and must learn to recognize and accept it when we are led to it. As far as all the extra time you will have.... did you ever consider "bowhunting"? ;D

I don't think bowhuntin's for me. Why would I ever want to mess with a stick and string? ;D At lest now I'll have more time to devote to my hobby and it's almost time to start setting up for stands. I got some good spots picked out by water sources that'll take just a little work. Looks like I found something to do with all that time

Congratulations to your wife and the family. Thank her for wanting to help people at their worst. Not many people go into that profession any more and we need more nurses and less Doctors. The nurse is the most important person in the hospital after the patient is stable.

My wife starts June 12th at a prestigious hospital in the area. She gets to start in a dept. that she likes and worked with the nurses there while pulling her clinical rotations. Now we'll be able to relax a little and not have to scrimp so much. We're not out of the woods yet but at least we can see the edge of the woodline! ;D

Well, my wife got her test date for her licensing exams - July 14th in Wilmington. She starts today as a CNA II and she's really excited. Last week she had to go through an orientation for the hospital, what's expected and how they do things, that sort of thing. We got a room in Wilmington so she doesn't have to worry about driving down (3hrs from here) on the 14th. While she's taking her test me and my girls are going to enjoy the beach. We're 6 miles from the ocean ! I think my girls are more excited about being at the beach more than anything else so it'll be a welcomed break for everyone . I'll let everyone know how she does. She's a little nervous but I'm sure she'll do great. God didn't bring her this far to let her fail. Besides, everyone she works with says if you can make it through nursing school the NCLEX is no problem.

Be sure to give her a big good luck hug from all of us Pete.
I'm sure she will do well.
I'm sure you and the girls will have a good time too.
Last time I was on the beach in Wilmington I got the tops of my feet burnt, had a hard time wearing shoes for a few days. ;D
Just a little heads up. ;D
