I have been trying to find a good book about hunting for kids. Bowhunting author John Eberhart had a book out, but it is out of print and the cheapest I can find a copy for is over $45. While going through the 3Rivers catalog I found a book called Conner's Big Hunt by Shawn Meyer. Wanting to find out more about the book, I Googled the title and came across more information. Here is a review of the book. Review teaser: "New Children’s Book Encourages Family Hunting and Old-Fashioned Values"The reviewer is from Bowhunter Magazine: www.bowhunting.net/artman/publish/ConnersBigHunt.shtmlMore information can be found here, at the author's website: www.huntwithakid.com/Price is $14.99. Needless to say. I am ordering this book to read to my son.

Thanks Scott! Glad you found the book. The second book in the "Conner" series should be finished sometime this summer (it is being illustrated right now). Anyone wanting some tips for hunting with youngsters can visit www.huntwithakid.com. Also, honor your dad by having your hunting story posted in our "tributes to dad" section. Shawn Meyer

Mike,
I see you are also from the Boiler state. Dad graduated from Purdue. We've spent many a Saturday there rooting on the Boilers.
Are you attending the Indiana Bowhunter Association banquet in Columbus? I'll be giving a seminar talk on hunting with kids. Maybe I'll see you.

Well if you are ever in the neighbor hood give us a shout.
No I won't be attending the banquet, I was just reading about it day before yesterday. Sounds like they should have a pretty good turnout.
I have some family up your way, they live in Ft Wayne. He's a big 3D shooter.

Shawn, Thanks for the fine book. I read it to my 5y.o. son for the first time last night. Great life lesson at the end...not only for little kids, but big kids too. I look forward to book #2.

Mike, It's been almost 20 years since I've shot 3D. I'd love to do it again but I'm too busy. Still a chance I'd know your relative. What's his name?
Scott, Glad you liked the book! All the books in the "Conner" series will feature one strong ethical lesson. The next book will emphasize abiding by the law. I'm really excited for its release.

I saw that someone had come to my website from here so I decided to check it out. I figured it was the web logs. Hope you don't mind I 'borrowed' the "What People are Saying..." image. Glad you found your way here, Shawn. This is definately a family site, and your input on hunting with kids would be valued.
