That's awsome BT, looks like you got a couple of lifetime hunting partners there.
What's the requirement for bow poundage where your from? Is it different for hogs than it is for deer. I know here you have to shoot 35lbs for deer.

40# Minimum where I am from and My older sons bow was at that minimum. (at the time) He was limited to feral hogs with his bow . (The one in the Pic. is about a 100# live weight) He took a 10yrd. shot on a Russian (two years back )and hit it beautifully, although the arrow never got through the rib cage. I just wouldnt hunt with the minimum regardless on these larger Hogs

Yes, I can understand that. Hate to make them mad, and have them run back at you to return your arrow.

The last time David (older) and I went Hog hunting a 200#+ Boar ran him up a tree I had to shoot him even though a bigger one was in the bush (Mainly because the pig was between the tree and me! ;D)

I never use a gun. I never put space between my kids and me but that one time I just thought we were thinking the same thing and Dave went one way and I went the other. Trust me when I say that my heart was in my throat as I watched him (helplessly for my part) make a dead run for that tree while looking back at me for help Scared the crap out of me (and him) , I can assure you that I wont be in that position again

Sorry BT, I forgot you haven't used a gun in many years. I still have that mentality when I see or hear "shoot," I assume a gun.
Glad your son was fine. Thanks for the story, valuable reminder to try and formulate a plan in case of emergency.
