Full Story here: espn.go.com/outdoors/hunting/s/h_fea_elk_AZ_Patterson_05-06.htmlExcerpt from the story: The Patterson bull, a clean 7x7 typical, has been given 60-day entry scores of 423 6/8 inches gross and 414 0/8 inches net.
Should that net score be upheld during panel scoring at the 2007 Pope & Young Club convention next April in Lancaster, Pa., the Patterson bull appears set to ascend to the wapiti throne by overtaking the current archery-elk standard — a 409 2/8-inch Montana monster tagged by legendary bowhunter Chuck Adams in 2000. WOW!!!

Great story about the hunt, too. I hope those numbers hold up at the Pope & Young convention. It is nice to see an "average Joe" break a record of a legend.

Awsome Bull I would of loved just to see him ,let alone get a shot ! It too bad he was an X-Packer LOL :DI am a Chicago Bears fan for LIFE! I was born and raised in Chicago by a father from NY, so I watched a lot of AFC games growing up. I went to a military High school in Wisconsin where my football allegiance became solidified: Surprisingly, I was never assaulted or shot at for wearing the green & gold in the city.

We'll Mike there are some big bulls out here but on the average they are nice 5x5 or 6x6'd some small 4x4's. I am not a Horn Hunter so I really not give a rat's a _ _,about horns I am in it for the meat and the pleasure of just being in the presence of such a beautiful and awesome animal!I don't care about being in P&Y Record books any bull Elk is a trophy too me.I would even shoot a cow if the shot presented itself Also as for ya coming out to bowhunt it's not like deer hunting it's alot of walking and searching up and down and up and down mtns for days just to maybe see one, alot of area to cover ! I just enjoy seeing them that is the whole point of me being out there is to get away from the hussle and bussle of my hectic life and see some awsome things ppl take for granted!
