My dad's co-worker asked him if he wanted to go on his boat this year to fish for bass. Any Help? Thought it would be cool to go catch a fish thats just a bit bigger than a trout. Hunk

Weel TJ hmmm..... I dont now how to bass fish so some basics would help. It's hard for me to spin fish because I'm used to fly fishing so I need some more practice at that... I'lll have to try that link. Looks very interesting and helpful! I don't even know what to use for bass!

If you want to keep it simple, I would suggest a medium to medium heavy rod, spinning reel, 10-12lb. test, and some soft plastics. Worms, crawdads, tubes, soft jerk baits, etc. My color choices are pumpkin, watermelon, motor oil, white, black, and blue(especially the crawdads). You can get any other color that catches your eye.
I also am a real fan of chartruese buzzbaits for the top water bite. I will give you a tip on them. When casting watch the bait so that you can see where it goes and close your eyes while reeling. You shouldn't miss any fish with a buzzbait if you do this(shouldnt, but it happens).
You can get any other lure that catches your eye, but that is a simple start. Good luck and have fun.

Hunk, I know a lot of guys and Gals that use fly fishing tackle for bass fishing, They just use a bit heavier line. You can also use your flys also just look at the hatch, Spinning reels are simple to use also, you shouldn't have any trouble mastering it. If my daughter can use a spinning rod & reel then anyone can. HAPPY FISHING!!!!!!
