Last thursday was my dads 80th birthday. He always took us fishing as kids, but he hasn't fished in at least 10 years. So, we decided for his birthday we would repay the favor. We bought him a new rod and reel, and made plans to go out fishing. Finally the rain let up, and we went to a little park, Witek Park, In Derby, to try our luck. The main criteria was easy access. At 80, he isn't as nimble as he used to be. He is a worm and bobber man, lol, so we set him up and he had a blast. He caught about 10 sunnies, and fed the rest that were in the pond...lol Scott and I caught a few fish on spinners, mostly sunnies, and a few small lm's. All in all we had a blast today. My dad was like a little kid. Gonna have to do some looking around for other easily accesible fishing places around here. Here is dad ready for the big one.Notice the Mathews hat!!! Yeah...I know...he is holding the pole upside down. Thats how he has done it all his life.I did the same untill I was about 14 before I realized it was wrong...lol Scott and dad struggling to land a monster!!!!!

I agree, that was an outstanding thing you did. I'm sure he had the time of his life. Probably would have wether you caught anything or not.
Great Job
