How many archers or firearms hunters take the time each season to check or fine tune their equipment? Such as paper tune bows? Check broadhead flight with target? Check arrow with broadhead and spin test? Target shoot and check scope sighting and distance grouping with guns? Check all tree stand and ropes and safety harness`s? Check boots for holes or cracks in soles? It doesn`t matter how silly or anal you might think it is tell us what you do in pre season to prepare.

I baught some of the knee high all rubber slip on boots at walmart last year and love them. They have 1000 grams of thinsulate and are camo and they are great to carry in the truck and just slip on, I can walk through a icy creek with probs, got tired of rotten strings myself and was the best money I spent on shoes in a long time. I usually get everything out and spread it on the floor and drive the wife nuts, lol. I check my knives to make sure they will still shave, give broadheads same test plust flight tune and spin test. Check all calls, check tree stand for broken or cracked welds, check all ropes, check clothes to make sure they still fit and have enough of what I need before season starts.Lubricate anything that has a bolt or screw that I have to undo, then I start on the truck

I haven't paper tuned a bow in many years. I feel it's the biggest waste of time ever. There are much better tuning procedures to ensure great flight without the headaches papertuning can cause. As for the rest of my equipment, I alwayas check for safety issues on my stands and such. Clothing is stored in a dry area and ususally will be the same way I put it up when I dr5ag it out. Guns are fired throughout the year at the range and well oiled in between outings. I try to makee sure that it isn't a once a year thing for me and my equipment.
