The most incredible tool ever invented without the Bowhunter in mind is the lowly clothes-pin . Yep, the cloths-pin has 1001 uses in the field, in the shop, and most of all in my Archery repair kit.
My emergency repair kit has three very important elements that I'll never leave home without. Super Glue, electrical tape, and several clothes pins.
Did you have a fletch lift?
Simply place some glue on the lifted fletch and clip back into place with the clothes pin.
Is the window flap on your pop-up blind flapping in the wind or in the wrong position? You guessed it, reach in you bag and pin it back with the clothes pin.
Do you like a wind indicator in your shooting lane?
That's right, twist a little twine around a cloths-pin and you have a reusable wind indicator that's ready to travel.
Need to keep your bow string in place while unstrung in camp? Clothes-pin!!!!
Want to hold your scent canister in place but don't want it tied to a limb? Clothes pin!
Are your sleeves getting in the way while you are shooting? , just fold them back and pin em!
Use the clothespin for figuring out draw length.
Put the clothespin near the end of the arrow and draw back to anchor.
I then take the arrow off and measure the distance between the nock and the clothespin....works great.
Little strips of reflective 3M tape on each side and use them for trail markers when blood trailing.
They'll hang from limbs so you can see them easily coming and going.
If you take 'em apart and reverse the wood parts and turn 'em end for end they have parallel sides instead of tapered and make better clamps for flat things that way; gluing leather or whatever.
