Well I fletched up some shafts with some 2" Blazers and I must say, I'm impressed. You'd never believe that these little guys could do such a great job at stabilizing your arrows, but they do!! Anyone else try them?

I like a smaller more personal forum. More friendly. and you seem to actually make more friends and most things don't turn into a bash session...

Well I fletched up some shafts with some 2" Blazers and I must say, I'm impressed. You'd never believe that these little guys could do such a great job at stabilizing your arrows, but they do!! Anyone else try them? Shot Blazers today with the same results...my groups of three are so tight I am ruining arrows. Today I ruined two with one shot. Well, one can be used again after being refletched. Took a vane clean off. Busted the nock out of the other which cracked the shaft. Unfortunately, I am sighting in a new sight and need to make groups, so I can't just shoot at another spot. Anyways, I am a beleiver in these Blazers. Have to place an order for fletching equipment now. Been having a shop do them up until today. Arrow building equipment is going to be my Christmas gift to myself. ;D

You guys are starting to push me towards those blazers. I'm going to have to give them a try. And I'm like you scott, I think I'm going to have to treat myself with some equipment. Might not wait til X-Mas, got a birthday first.

It's a great investment when it comes right down to it. Most unfletched arrow shafts will be cheaper. Add to that , most times the only thing wrong with an arrow is the fletching so it would save you money there as well. Plus it's a great way to kill some time!!

That is true, they are much cheaper. Of course then there is the cutting part. Do you guys cut your own arrows? A buddy of mine does and he uses a dremel tool.

I cut mine with a chop saw (fibre blade).... set up a block so the arrows are the same length, anything with a fibre blade will do the trick

I am going to break down and spend the money on an Apple saw. I have heard of people using a Dremel with success, but I am going to get a saw. As for fletching to pass the time...I agree. I figured I would learn a lot during the winter and be proficient by spring. It is a money saver. Last batch of Maximas I had cut, with wraps and Blazers on cost me some good money.

Check out Harbor Freight for a cutting saw. They have them on sale alot for about $20. If you go to AT and do a search, you'll find out everything you wanted to know about cutting shafts.
