How many of you have every used and outfitter to hunt deer or went to one of them paid hunting ranches to hunt deer?
Were you happy with your decision? Did you get out of it what you wanted?

Hey Mike , We are doing real good . 2006 season is shaping up really nicely . It seems a lot of hunter's are coming out of Hibernation early this year and getting after their Hunting plans . So it's keeping me busy ! Regards Bullet

I guide myself hunting and fishing....It would have to be a dream hunt before I would invest money like that... ;D

Here is my opinion ....I believe it would be easier for an Easterner wanting to hunt deer or elk or a combo elk/deer/lopes hunt to use an outfitter the first time out here in the West. A DIY(do it yourself ) hunt requires hours and hours if not months of research, contacts and planing. Not to mention applying for and then hoping to draw the permits, etc.. Your odds are much greater getting the permits(elk) through the use of an outfitter . Not everybody from back East knows aggreeable land owners living out here who will let them come out on their own and hunt on their property DIY. You could do a DIY hunt on State or BLM land, but that still rquires you to do a ton of long distance research... getting permission from land owners to tresspass on their property to gain access on the "land locked" BLM land. You still have to go through the application/ draw process on your own and if your not drawn for the area you plan on hunting , all the other work was for nothing.Again, just my opinion.
