What kind of shell and shot do you use when pheasant hunting? I use Federal 2 3/4 high brass 6 shot with improved cyclinder choke. That's with a Remington 870 Express.

Reload my own #6 2 3/4 shell with a skeet 1 choke in my Mossberg 500.

Hey Mike,
I have a Stoeger Condor O/U 20 gauge here in PA. I use 20 remington 2 3/4 in. 6 shots shells with a modified and improved cylinder choke.

I use 2 3/4in., 7 1/2's. I use these because I bought a case and still havent shot them all. . Bought them for a dove hunt and only saw one dove... . I guess we got there a week late. Oh well, there are still squirrels and this falls doves.

I have a Stevens 12 gauge single shot,28 inch full choke barrel, I use 2 3/4 winchester high brass with #4`s. I can let em put a little distance between me and them and knock them with 1 shot,,at least I used to,,lol,,haven`t bird hunted in several years.

Back to the question Mike. In Pa we usually go for pheasant,grouse,chukkar,and quail. Yes, my Stoeger does a heck of a pounding to a quail!

Here's a pic of my first S. Dakota pheasant. The dog on the left is Zolton Cocoa's puppy who is on the left. With Zolton as of right now it is a long story and I do not have to to tell it right now. For Zolton having been on 10 pigeons before S.D. he pointed 11 hem pheasant and backed Cocoa on more then have of her points. Here is the pic:
