I had a very busy and rewarding day today. My two oldest grand daughters spent the night with us last night so that they could "do some archery" with Grandpaw. I taught them how to change the draw length and poundage on their bow, then they learned how to strip carbon and aluminum arrows, install inserts and nocks, plus they got to choose their own fletching colors and fletch up their own arrows. While the glue was drying they talked old Grandpaw into an archery tournament.....2 against one. I bet you can all figure out the outcome of that tourney! Every time I turned around today, one of the girls (or both) was in the range shooting and doing a great job of it! (I bet they are going to be stiff and sore tomorrow! The oldest of the two hates a wrist release. She found that she loves my TruBall Pro Diamond T handle. She has really done great at learning to fire it off with back tension! As far as she is concerned, that release is HER release! The oldest also stated today that she can hardly wait for her parents to move up to Burlington this summer so that she can come over to practice shooting more and to learn more about bow mechanics. She wants to compete at local and state shoots, plus she wants to carry on my tradition of helping archers learn to shoot. I could not be any more proud than when I heard that! I found out today that poor old Grandpaw is going to have to invest in another bow for the older grandkids. The poor little PSE Spyder is about to be out grown by the two oldest girls! Well, I am about worn to a frazzle, so it is off to bed for me! dick
