Well, my student Marty Sr. came over today for his second lesson. He has been practicing what I have taught him so far and he is doing Wonderfully! His draw length is still a bit too long and the bow is still out of time, but he's going back to the shop to get some more of that taken care of this afternoon. All in all, Marty Sr. has been one of The Easiest Students I have ever taught! He listens, he immediate acts upon suggestions and incorporates them into his shooting sequence. He did so good today that I told him that I feel that he will not need any more lessons unless he notices something strange. I told him to just practice Perfect Practice, and work on becoming absolutely consistent! Here is a group of 5 arrows that he shot: If he continues to practice like he has been doing and he continues to strive for consistency and accuracy he is going to be darned hard to out shoot! dick

Hey dick,,I would seriously check the cams,, from the pick you origonally posted it appears the top cam is drawing much longer than the bottom cam, this would account for the longer draw length. I think once you get that issue corrected he will be in bus

The cams were indeed out of time and have now been set properly. His draw length is still a little too long, but it is a manageable amount. He says that the bow feels much better to him and way more comfortable to shoot, so he is going to have to live with what he has. He has now become very consistent and quite accurate, so we are figuring that he should shoot the way it is set up. Besides that, he is set on the shortest pegs that the NRG cam has. dick

I'd say that is pretty darn good shooting after only two lessons and I'm guessing he is doing a lot of practicing.

Thats great GPR,,what did they do put a 26 inch module on the lower cam and a 27 inch on the top? He does have a great looking group and if he is comfy with it let him roll with it. I always encourage people to be just a tad overdrawn rather than under, it seems to help them stay at full draw longer and be more relaxed.

Overdrawing makes a person open up on the shot and inflicts (at times) the same effect as torquing the bow. whereas short drawing allows a person to pull through the release more easily.
