Here is something I learned the hard way, at least once in a while you will mess up and find out you broke your fiber optics on your site. How many have just scrapped the whole sight and baught a new one? Now you can repair the broken strand provided you have enough optic to do so. If you can pull the optic through the sight until you are outside the pin 1/8 of an inch pull it out and thread it into the pin. Then heat a butter knife over a flame until it is very hot but not glowing hot. Then gently press against the fiber optic and it will melt back to a ball and you have your site back. I had broken my optic on my Cobra Sidewinder and tried it with a lighter but it melts it too much and had to cut off nearly an inch of optic. I tried heating the butter knife and it worked like a charm, plus I was able to make the ball a little larger so it is a better focal point. Hope this helps.
