I got my new bow last week and I didn't have a chance to take it to the shop yet. My brother comes over and says let me see your bow. I show it to him and he asks what is it set at? I said 72# so he Ok and before he pulls it back I tell him DON'T DRY FIRE IT!!!!! So he gets it back 3/4 of the way and the string slips out of his fingers and I hear PING!!! The string is off the bow so I'll need a new 1. My limbs aren't cracked or have splinters so my limbs look Ok. I'm not sure about my cams but they look Ok but I'm off to the shop tonight. My brother said he would pay for it!!!! Anything else I should do?

That is pretty much it for now. Take it to the shop and let them give it the once over to make sure everything is ok.
Hopefully everything is fine.

I was talking to someone who knows a whole lot about archery before and she said that if there is no cuts in the string then my string should be fine. She said the most damage on a dry fire is the limbs and like I said before there is no visable signs of damage so I'll post my progress....

You should have a pro shop remove your axles and check to make sure they aren`t bent, also have them remove the limbs from the limb pocket and check for cracks, its usually the invisible places that the damage occurs. Since he only drew back 3/4 of the way you should be ok,,but make sure you give it the complete once over,,will save you money in the long run.
