The PSE factory truck(18 wheeler) was at my local outdoor store today(Fri.) from 12-6pm. I got off work and hurried over there to see what they had, expecting discounts and such. Hum Bug! Full price on everything!!!
I did get a chance to fire the new Mach X. That bow was the quietest bow I have ever shot or heard. The bow was one of the staffs and he was allowing people to shoot it. There were only a couple of draw backs for me. One was that I am left handed and he was right, another was I am a 26" draw, he is a 29". The only good thing was that he shot at 60lb. draw and so do I. Well, I put on a release, loaded up an arrow, pulled it back(was shooting it left handed). Had a little trouble getting it back to 29" as is was wanting to break near my chin, but I got it. I put the pins on the target and squeezed the trigger, only thing I heard was the string zipping past my ear. I then preceded to shoot another. Same noise. I looked at it in amazement.
Went back over to the table and was talking about it and a guy walked up and asked about it. They allowed him to shoot it also. I almost didnt hear it. He had the same response I did ....he shot it again and asked where the noise was....the guys started laughing.
I am not kidding when I say that this thing is quieter than a Mathews Switchback. No vibration, no noise, no nothing but accuracy and quality. It is also set up to be taken down in the field if something happens, without the aid of a bow press. I did have one complaint and that was the $750 price tag, but that can be accomplished with a little saving.
His set up was:
29" draw length
60lb. draw weight
I think a 355gr. arrow or a 377gr arrow.
chronoed at 287fps.
Vibra-Check stabilizer
STS system
