Well it time to unveil my frankenstein After alot of work and changing my mind several times I finally came to the finished product and end result. Sean Connery who played Allen Guartermain in League of Extraordinary Gentleman had his Matilda now I have mine I decided on the Mathews Max cam and FINALLY found a 3 inch Fred Bear idler with ball bearings and here are the specs....FINAL tally,,lol ATA- 33 3/4 " BH- 6" IBO- 356 grn arrow @71 lbs draw--- 321 fps. I origonally had my target speed at 320 fps so I finally got there and topped it by 1 fps. So I am a happy little camper and done fiddling with it,,lol. She does have a slight hand jump but with Storm putting the extra holes in the riser to add dampners where needed I will eliminate that. When I set out on this venture of building my very own custom bow I knew it would be a headache but let me tell you folks it is worth it. Here she is the final product. i53.photobucket.com/albums/g75/hoosieroutdoorsman/Matilda1.jpg

Believe it or not I am done tinkering,,lol. Slap asked what was my encore going to be next,,lol,, somehow he didn`t believe me either that I was done with her. But actually I am, sure I could spend another month fooling around with her and maybe gain 5-10 fps? But I beat my target speed by 1 fps. It may not be much but it is still and over accomplishment on the origanal goal. SO She stays as is and now I will just enjoy getting her sighted in and practiced up. Thats what its all about

Well Ted looks like you were right,,that was NOT the final answer,,LOL. I have been shooting the custom and getting it sighted in and breaking in the strings and cable. And decided to put her on the chrony and see how she was doing with the peep sight in and ready for hunting, she is now averaging between 319.8 and 321.0 with full hunting set up.. With the peeps I use the bows generally loose 5-6 fps.So looks like the new IBO is 325 fps. avg. My d loop is stretching out quite a bit and a couple of shots I really drew her as solid as I could and hit 325.8 with the peep and all,,if I was like alot of archery companies I could embelish and call the IBO 330,,lol. But I will keep it honest

Well I wasn`t actually doing anything to her to get it where it is,,just been shooting it and the string and cable settling in must have rolled the cam enough to gain the extra 4-5 fps.? There really isn`t much I can do to gain more speed, except take of the peep and d-loop and shoot off the string,,maybe up my poundage to 4.8-4.9 grains per pound of draw,,it isn`t worth that to gain a few fps.

Yessir!! Having not to focus through a small diameter ring is a plus for going peepless. It will allow for more light to enter into the pupil thus allowing for better vision.

I may give the peepless a try,, but I do know one thing Matilda is getting expensive,,lol. I picked up a knight and hale bandit buck target bag. It is suppossed to be rated for crossbows and I hope this one will stop my arrows from blowing all the way through. I will do a review on it after a few dozen shots and see how it works.

I'm thinking some new stuffing for your old bag might have worked too. She's pretty worn out. ;D
Look forward to hearing about the new one though.

I baught a new target also and have been shooting it, and blowing through it and tearing up fletchings. None have came off though, that quantumXT is some awesome glue. Now I will give the bandit buck a try.
