Looking for some opinions for a buddy of mine. He is wanting to get a new bow.
He would like to get one in the $350 or less catagory. He'd be looking for the 60-70 lb and 29-30" range.
I'm sure one of the first ones that will come up is the Martin Sabre like elk just got. And I think that is a fine bow. But I am looking for all possible options to pass on to him.
So let me hear your ideas.

Hey Mike have him look into a bow like this . I am in love with my Saber alot better bow than a few I have owned in the past and I have a Warrenty now ;D.Very smooth draw and very comfortable in the hand and a forgiving Bh at 8 1/4". I also see that Martin is coming out with a Bengal in the fall for 07 lineup here is a link. It is going for $399 www.martinarchery.com/?page=bows&bow=bengal

Another nice bow is the Browning F-5 Tornado or if it were me I would head to a Gander Mountain and add $50 to his $350 and get a Parker Hunter Mag, he could pick one up fully set up through the gander and they are great little bows. They usually sell the Mags fully set up with sights, WB rest and quiver for $399,,hard deal to beat. HE could get a PSE Bruin Rimfire for $299 I believe and it is a good little bow but for the money the Parker is hard to beat.

I told him about the Nova's, they have so many variations that there is one to fit everyone.
That seller has some pretty good prices on their bows. Vengence for $499, that is pretty good.

I thought so too, all are brand new and still have factory warranty with them. If he is just wanting a bow then the nova would be a perfect fit, if he wants something that is better quality and more like a pro style bow the Parker Hunter Mag would be my choice.

He's been hunting for years. He is the one with the 20 year old Martin. He wants to get a new bow but just doesn't have a lot of money right now.

I have to suggest ebay for the place to buy since that opens up many more choices for $350. I wouldn't mind a 2 or 3 year old bow that lists for 650 being attained for 1/2 that Obviously I like BowTech but Hoyt bows are very good as well. If you want brand new I would go with a Reflex since the price is right at what is being looked for and they are Hoyt quality.
