Okay... I just FINALLY picked up my new Browning Micro Adrenaline.... took it to a picnic/gathering... several othes had their bows out - we were shooting - we were standing around yapping... a couple kids came up... picked up a couple bows.... one of which was my NEW BOW... and dry fired them..... One of those "moments" where time stands still, but moves with the speed of light and you don't have time to scream "NO"..... the peepsite is broken... but someone told me that the cams could be broken and on and on....
Anyone? HELP!!! Now what?
I'm taking into the bow shop today... Jesse is gonna FREAK! I just know it!

Howdy stranger.
Sorry to hear what happened to your new bow. Taking it to the bow shop is probably the best idea. They can check your cams and limbs and other stuff.
Just tell them what happened and they should be able to check the things that need checking. Hopefully nothing else is damaged.

I agree spryte Iwould try to take it to the bow shop you bought it from or contact browning. Looks like the Limbs and cams and everything according to the Warrenty are covered for 5 yr's 100%. Also here is there website address on the warrenty info. ;D Good luck and hope you get it fixed soon ;D

I can tell you this much, my son has a Micro Midas which is the ASdrenalines twin from Browning. His was dry fired accidently and survived. Taking it to the shop is the best thing you could do. They'll probabbly do a complete take down and inspect everything thoroughly. Stuff happens Mel. Won't be the end of thje world if something is found wrong. Just make sure it is inspected VEY thoropughly. Check the limbs around the axles, limb pockets, and where the cam shaft slides in. The cams could warp and that should be looked at as well as the bearings. Make sure none of the strands of your string and cables have broken too.

I actually put locks on my bowcase.... NO ONE is EVER touching that bow except for ME and Jesse {when he tunes it up} lol lol If the bow is not in MY hands... then it's LOCKED in the bowcase!! Okay... I downloaded the warranty info and sent it off to Browning. I downloaded the user's manual too... it says to wax the strings before EVERY shoot?? Do you all do that everytime you go to the range or out hunting?... And what is this 5 grain minimum arrow weight per draw #?? I think it's time for some lessons here guys!! I KNOW I can shoot... but now you all need to help me with the "maintenence" part of it! Ohhh.. I found my next new bow already.... www.browning-archery.com/products/2006/barracuda.htmCombine both of my favorite pastimes in one!!

What poundage are ya pulling Spryte? I'll use 30#'s as an example. You're total arrow weight must be over 150 gr for the warranty to be in effect and the reason for that is anything lighter is simulating a dryfire and can be very dangerous to not only you, but the equipment as well. As for waxing, I usually wax after every long session (100+ arrows). If I only shoot a few, then I don't worry about it as much. Make sure you get the servings as well. This prevents seperation and promotes longer life. You can usually feel the string to see if they need waxing. Dry strings are no good!! Have Jesse teach you the proper waxing techniques. You'll be doing it a lot!!

Thanks Michi... I will ask Jesse to show/teach me about waxing... He's the only one besides the owner Tom, that I TRUST with my bow.... with the exception of you guys.... but ya'll aren't here!! lol Okay... how do I KNOW that it's the right arrow weight? I'm sure Jesse made sure,, but how do *I* know.... right now I"m pulling 33#'s and after my shoulder "fix" operation this coming Monday... I'm going to up it a couple pounds.... to 35#'s.... I want to be up to 42-45#'s by October.... Okay... there will be MANY MANY MANY more questions... please be patient... this is the very first time I've ever had/shot a bow... and I'm having the time of my LIFE!!! I LOVE THIS!! I've been to the range everyday they are open... and I"m thinking of asking the ex father in law to build me a target for the back yard!! So when the range is closed I can still shoot!!!! Ya'll got me hooked on this.... are you happy now?

All I can say is- I told ya so!! ;D Easiest way is to check total aroow weight without a scale is to check the arrow mfg's website. You can do some quick math once you figure out the arrows grains per inch for the arrow you are using. Add your tip wait, insert weight (usually 15-20gr), fletch weight, and nock weight.

I'm glad to hear your bow is ok Spryte. That was a close one. As far as arrow weight, as Michihunter has said, ya wanna go 5 grains per pound. If you are shooting 30 pounds then ya multiply that by 5 and that is the Minimum arrow weight that you are reccomended to shoot from your Bow. I am sure your bowshop guy, Jesse, has seen to it that you are well within your arrow weight for your bow. But if you wanted to know yourself how much your arrow weighs you can shop on E-bay or even your Bowshop and buy yourself a portable bow scale for less than $40. And for waxing your strings and cables,I recommend waxing them at least once a week if you shoot quite a bit. Have fun with it and welcome to the World Of Bowhunting.
