These are the free vanes that I recieved from the link posted on another forum(maybe here too). I installed them today and took pics of my old vanes and the new ones. I will shoot them tomorrow when I get home from work. I have to let them dry over night tonight. My other vanes had a 4* offset (I think) and I went with a right helical on these. I will give a review tomorrow evening when I have shot them. The new vanes have a black mark on the c0ck vane.

I went with the 2" for my free ones and I had a miserable time fletching them. Very thin and a tiny base made for some hallenging fletching routines. Could never get the leading edge to sit down completely. Experience any of those problems Doc?

My only problem was that I couldnt get the leading edge to sit fluch on a couple of them. I just added some glue after they came off the jig and gave it a little push. DOesnt look to bad.

I had the same problem. I attribute it to the thinness of the material and the very small base.

I shot some with them today at 10 and 20 yards. Here are the pics from shooting. I almost ruined them the first time out. Maybe it was me, but the arrows seemed faster also. [glow=red,2,300]10 yards-3 arrows[/glow] [glow=red,2,300]20 yards- 4 arrows[/glow]

Must be those new vanes! Lord knows it couldn't be you ;D! What is the weight comparison between these vanes and say a conventional vane? Maybe the difference in weight is accounting for the speed increase

I dont know what the vanes that came on the arrows weigh, but the new ones are 7gr. each for a total of 21gr.

Most standard 4 inch vanes weight 8-9 grains each.
