I sent my wife to get me some turkey shells today and she brought back a box of $33 Winchester Supreme Elite Xtended range-Hi Density turkey loads. I normally just buy the regular $8 win.supremes but sense I already have these, I'm gonna give em a try. Just wondering if any of you guys have ever tried them and if so, how much difference do they make over the regular turkey loads?

Thirty-three bucks a box?! To each their own,but at that price, it better come with a guarantee of a harvest.... ....man, that's salty! Tell ya what, pat......use those you have, and post a review of them on the Hunting Gear sub-board....let us know whether they're the bee's knees or if they're a waste of money. Help us all out....that's part of what makes this site so great. ................'slap.................................

In all fairness to my better half I should probably note that she asked the dealer what he recommended and seeing $$$ he pushed these high dollar shells on her but if they do in fact give an extra 15 to 20 yards of killing power like he said they would, I will continue to use them from now on. But I'll have to shoot a turkey cause at over $3 a shot, there's no way in (you know where) that I'm waisting them on a paper target

If these shells do indeed do as they claim, I MIGHT consider trying them at some point. $33 is a bit steep, though.....guess that's the cost of doing business anymore.
Anyone here do their own loads?

I have used Win. Xtended Range Hi-Density Loads last year as did all my chums. I was using #6,3". Expensive yes, worth it, you bet! I had a tom walking right at me last year and could easily have shot him at 10 yeards but wanted to try the new loads. I shot my Tom at 43 yards. When I shot, the head snapped back and the bird deflated and didn't even flap around. Amazing loads! My chums had the same sort of success. That's all we use now.

I didn't get to try them on a turkey yet but I Killed a coyote at about 50 yards saturday. I had no measuring tape and just stepped of what I believe to be 50 yards...give or take. If they'll kill a yote at that range then they'll surely jellyhead a gobbler.
