I just refinished an old single shot Revelation ( if your an old fart you will remember them at Western Auto) in 12 Ga..It looks like a Topper single shot. This gun is very special to me and my wife. It belonged to my wife's brother who saddly dissapeared back in the 70's. Thinking about mounting a scope on it, but might be a problem since its a break-open action. Maybe just improve the iron sight. Any suggestions ? This gun was a mess from my wife hunting squirrels for a lot of years back in Pa.. The factory finish on the stock and forend looked terrible and the barrel had a lot of surface rust.

That's gonna be one fine looking gun when you're done. Has a sorta 'character' to it.

sry as to your question or thoughts.......... if it where mine........ i would stay with the open(iron) sight's.........im sure a smith could drill and tap but like you stated........ its a break action........ imho keep it simple and use it the way it was made just my 2 cents

Sidewinder~ Yup, I just might leave the front bead alone. I'm also thinking about inlaying some deer antler in stock with a carved or wood-burned turkey track on it. Yes, she kicks ! Never feel it though when jellying a gobble's head !

This year I will be using my Winchester 1300 again. I put a new choke and sights on it. I still need to pattern it and make sure it is sighted in, but it is ready for that.

I've had a few breaker downers drilled and tapped and they performed great. go ahead and do it.
