since most seasons have begun or will so I thought i'd put a refresher of calls up...each has its advatages and can be the deciding factor between a bird and tag soup yelp- probably the most common call or well known call this is simply a hen announcing her prescense to the birds in the area purr- the purr is a calming call, its saying i'm here, feeding and relaxed-so if you dont want to come over here, fine cuz im not coming to you, some toms may take offense to this and come running warning putt/putt- this is usually bad news, it means that they have spotted something or something isnt quite right....just a plain putt though can be used in unison with a yelp or purr and isnt a bad thing kee kee- this is the sound of a young turkey that hasnt quite learned how th talk the "big" talk, some toms may like this becuase they know they will not get beat up by an older bird kee kee run- this is a series of a few kee kee's and a yelp or two at the end...goes along with the kee kee only that this bird is a little bit more mature becuase it can get a few yelps out whine- this can be used instead of the purr if you are a mouth caller who just cant get the purr to work...its a fairly high pitched noise that sounds like "neew new" it again means the bird is content and you can some if u like, but im not coming to you dont forget...GOOD LUCK ;D
