Won't be long now fellas. I hope we can fill the trophy room up with some nice Turkey pics.
Let us know how your pre season scouting is going. Got anything promising?

Well, I have been scouting and patterning the birds around here for around 6 months. (I know, a lot can change in 6 months with a flock, but I figure the more I know about them, the better off I will be).
The last 5.5 months have been pretty good, and I have had a lead on a flock with around 14 birds in it. However, in the last two weeks, another area I have been watching has exploded with activity.
So, being the idiot that I am, it is time for a last minute change of plans. ;D There is a nice area about 500 yds off the main road, and on one edge it has a nice thicket with a big oak right in front. According to the tracks in the field, either there is 6-15 birds there, or there is one bird who adjusts his feet to different sizes and walks a lot. (One small corner has so much activity that the ground is coated with tracks, there is not a spot the size of a coffee cup that doesn't have a track on it)
I looked at this a little closer, and realized that it is NOT just a congregation area, it is the main entry into this field! The birds can get in in other places, but this one corner is the easiest for them to get through. You can bet your hat where I am going to be doing the majority of my hunting this spring.
And, if this new spot doesn't work out, I can go back to my old area.

Sounds great TJ. Sounds like you will be eating Turkey before you know it.
