Along the Jefferson River bottom today. I haven't been out in that area since I killed my buck back there in early Nov.. So, I "officially " kicked off the begining of my 2007 deer season today doing some scouting. Didn't cut any deer tracks in the snow until I reached the cedars where I dropped the 3by2 . 10 minutes later three whitetails ran out of the thicket. A doe a yearling and best of all a buck bringing up the rear. And guess what? Yep, he is the same buck that kept bustin away from me last fall ! Still has all of his unmistakable headgear too ! Man, I am so glad to see he made it through all the seasons . I sure hope I can find his sheds when they drop. I'll be going out more often now to try to find them when that happens. I can hardly wait to see this big boy sportin his new rack for this year, He should turn out to be a dandy ! Been seriously thinking about taking the bow out this fall.... Now, if only I could find my Bow Hunter Certification card. Lost it years ago and it's required to bow hunt in MT.. Anyone out there know who to contact at International that could look me up in their records in order to send me a new card ? Here are some pic's that I took today of the deer's tracks. I wasn't able to "shoot" the deer... wasn't ready with the camera. I have picks of some rubs also which I'll post later. I just LOVE fresh deer tracks !!!

Anyone out there know who to contact at International that could look me up in their records in order to send me a new card ? Here in Canada all I have to do is call the Rangers office and they can put me onto the right people to get a copy of that. I bet you could do the same werever you took your test. give it a try it could not hurt.
