We have a resevior about 2 hrs from here that they do really good at the walleye. my pappy and I have been talking about going and I do not have the slightest idea on how to fish for these. I have heard that they are better eating than Crappie. :-/Can they be fished from the bank? Any advice? Thanks Mike

Walleye are known to be rather finicky at times. They can be fished from a bank no problem. I usually use a drop shot technique with a longer leader. You will usually find them in the bottom reaches. They will hit on live baits as well as plastics and stick baits. Minnows are a favorite in the early parts of the year and crawlers as the temps increase. A jighead with a stinger hook free floating is a great technique. I use a twister tail or a yum worm and only use a length long enough to blend with the stinger. Usually 4" is plenty. They are especially known to hit more at the darker hours of the day such as night, dawn, or dusk. They mostly have a soft bite so sensitivity is a key. Got any specidfic questions, just holler!!
