We were fishing Table Rock Lake last year, Of course I used a spinner bait, the wife also used a spinner bait from Strike King. She then switched over to a Mann's Deep Diving 10+ Crank Bait, 2 casts later she brought in this nice 10lb. 10oz. BASS. Now that's all she'll use, So the wife's favorite lure is any type of crank bait.

When fishing gets tough downsize and go deeper in the summer. Springtime fishing I like to use a little 4" ringworm, it will light a fire under them Bass under MOST conditions. Green for early mornin, and when the sun is up good go to red.

Olddog, I agree downsize the lures at times, it also depends on the area that your fishing. In the early morning I'll use 3/8oz spinner bait, the afternoon i'll use a 1/2 oz. spinner go get deeper then switch back to a 3/8oz. or even smaller late night. Color also depends on the type of water your fishing in.

I've caught many bass in the middle of the summer fishing over deep holes or deep structure/cover with a 3/4oz. white or black spinnerbait. White and chartruese works good too. I take and burn it on the surface and make a wake. I break the surface every now and then to get some noise. I have also found that willow leafs work the best for this. Of course, I havent tried the colorado blades yet.

Colorado blades will create more sound, more flash on a spinner bait, also they are easy to change.

Ahh YES SMALLMOUTH Bass, love the fight and love to see them dance & jump. A smallmouth seems to hit better then a Largemouth, but I'll take either one.
