My dad and I went to the river to try and catch some carp. When we got there the water was high from the storms and our regular spots were covered up with white water. I caught a sucker and my dad caught a decent carp. We finally left when some guys moved in and started fishing our spot for smallies. It wasnt that big of a deal, but they were casting over our line to get to their spot. We just loaded up and went home. The carp are in but, they aren't biting like they normally do. I may go again later this week, definetly this weekend. It will be my annual birthday carp fishing trip. Here is a pic of my dad and his fish...

Yes they are. The one he is holding in the pic was quite the battle. Everytime it would get close to the bank for me to grab, it would take off and strip drag. It took almost 5 min. for him get it under control and me to get it out of the water. It doesnt seem like a long time, but when it gets close, then strips line, then get close, etc...you get the picture. Of course, he was using 10lb. test. You cant horse them in with that.

Good lookin' CARP there Doc. Thanks for sharing. Carp can be harder to land then BASS. I also agree they do put up a good fight. We'll catch a few Carp and some Catfish if I bottom bounce a rig fishing the deeper holes.
