I support it also, without it there wouldn`t be anything left to catch.

I DO!!! I love to catch fish on some streams so that the next tome I go there I can catch them again!!! I think it's good for the streams to always have fish in it and so if the fish commission comes and says "This year we will only put out 10,000 trout statewide instead of 25,000" The Game Commission does that here in Pa.

Hunk Your right Hunk, the less fish the state has to put in saves money for the state also that's what keep the fishing license cost down. Everyone should Catch, Photo & Release.

I catch and release on most occasions. Alot of time it comes down to how late I am done fishing. If I catch several fish and think I am going to eat them I'll keep them. I usually end up fishing later than planned or only catch one or two. Ill let them go. I also use a powder that you put in the live well to help them stay alive and healthy.

I usualy only keep what I plan on eating. That would be perch and walleye for the most part. And even with those there are limitations on what I'll keep. Perch have to be 9"+ and waleye are usually kept between 15 and 20 inches.

I can't believe that there are only a few of us here that support Catch & Release. I see this topic has been read a lot of times but NOT many posts.

I am pretty much like michi. The majority of the time we throw everything back.
But every once in awhile we like to have a good fish fry. So we may keep everything we caught on Friday and Saturday and then cook up a mess on Sunday.
For us it is usally Bluegill and Crappie.

Mike bluegill and Crappie don't count LOL I'd like to see everyone return the large and smallmouth bass back to the water, also the walleyes that are 21" to 27" toss them back also seeing that's the breeding stock.

I realize you were talking about the bigger species. But we do the same with Crappie and Bluegil. We don't always keep them. Especially if it is a 3-4 fish day. ;D

If your going to eat the fish fine take what you can eat, use the leftovers as plant food, or take that out for another day of fishing makes great bait.
